Service Representative for Health & Dental Benefit Plan Administration - Contract

We are a national third-party administrator to pension and benefit plans, and we are seeking a qualified individual to assume the responsibilities of Service Representative, Health & Dental Administration in our Winnipeg location. This is a contract, full-time opportunity, in a fast paced, challenging work environment. The contract period is for eighteen (18) months - with the possibility of an extension.
Working in a customer service environment, the successful applicant will be responsible for the adjudication and processing of health and dental claims, file maintenance and the preparation of general reports, while assisting the Team Lead with special projects, as assigned.

Qualifications:

High school diploma and 1 to 2 years' experience in a busy office environment

1 to 2 years' benefits experience, with strong knowledge of Health & Welfare Benefits Administration

Knowledge and experience in the adjudication and processing of health and dental claims

Demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word

Good working knowledge of i5Series (AS400), or similar system

Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize effectively

Reliable and able to work independently with minimum supervision - as well as part of a team

Customer and quality focused

Detail oriented, accurate and consistently meets deadlines

High degree of initiative

Aptitude for figures



Duties:

Adjudicate and process health & dental claims for assigned Plans

Understand and apply the terms of benefit plans

Communications, written and verbal, with both the Plan beneficiaries and service organizations, as well as Regional offices and local unions

Assist with preparation of general reports, contribution control, premium payments

Provide reception/telephone coverage as needed

Assist with special projects and other administrative duties, as required/assigned



The successful applicant will report to the Regional Manager with direction from the Unit Head.
